Fixing problems with AutoCAD profile

How do I know if I have a problem with my AutoCAD profile?

There may be a problem with the profile if:

  • Your plotter or pen styles no longer appear.
  • You receive error messages when trying to save a custom paper size.
  • You have deleted the setup folder located on the I:\ drive.
  • Your settings in AutoCad are no longer being maintained between logins or program starts.

To fix AutoCAD profiles:

Important:

  • Make certain that the I:\ drive is NOT over quota (full) before trying this corrective procedure. If the drive is at quota, then the following steps will not correct the problem.
  • Make certain that AutoCAD is NOT running before proceeding.

  1. Open My Computer by double clicking on the icon on the desktop.
  2. Double click on the S:\ drive and navigate to:
    S:\orgs\DigitalWorkshop\autocad
  3. Double click on the file: fixcad.bat
  4. You should be able to use AutoCAd without error.

If the above fix does not work then:

  1. In auto cad, click on the file drop down menu and select plot style manager.
  2. Leave the plot style manager open and minimize auto cad.
  3. Open my computer
  4. Click on the S drive.
  5. Click on the Org folder --> Digital workshop folder--> Auto cad folder--> Profile folder
  6. Once you are in the Profile folder you need to drag the plot style folder into the plot style manager.
