Question: When I print something to the printer, the print never comes out of the printer. What could be the problem?

Answer: There are many reasons why a print would not come out of a printer.

  1. Check to see if you have printers (NO printers available under Printers. When logging in, a application box appears. If this box is interrupted before it completes its tasks, you will not have any printers listed to print. Log off from the workstation, log back in, and then check your printers once the small box disappears.
  2. Check that you are sending the print to the correct printer. Many times, you could be checking one printer and it is actually printing from a different printer at a different location.
  3. Check the printer queue. During peak times, the printers may have a long queue of print jobs that it needs to process. Double click on the printer icon at the lower right hand corner of the screen (near the system clock). A list of waiting print jobs will appear. Check to see if your username appears in the queue and where in the queue it is located.
  4. Check your printing quota. If you do not have any money in your printing account, the print job for which you are waiting, will come out only as an insufficient funds alert.
