Personal Storage

Introduction to personal storage (I:\ Drive)

Each student enrolled in the School of Architecture and Planning is provided a central storage area to save personal data. When logged into the computers located in the School of Architecture and Planning, this area ppears as the I:\ drive in My Computer.

 

Storage limits (quotas) are as follows:

  • Faculty and staff: up to 6GB
  • Students:
    • Undergraduates: 1 GB
    • Graduates: 2 GB
  • Visitors and other University users: up up to 250MB
The I:\ drives are protected from loss that might occur from viruses, data corruption, and accidental deletion.

All personal storage is now provided by CIT through the UBFS system. Please follow these links to find information on using and managing your I:\ drive.

Accessing your I:\ drive

Please note: The directions below will get you to your UBFS file space. All of your data is located in the WINDOWS\USERDATA folder. So for example, the full path to connect to your personal data would be:

\\itorg.ad.buffalo.edu\ubfs\myfiles\1st letter of ubit username\2nd letter of ubit username\ubit username\windows\userdata
