Authorized Users Policy

Authorized users of the Computing Resource Labs (DMG) in the School of Architecture & Planning (SA&P) shall include the following groups:

  • Students currently registered at the University at Buffalo, with majors in the SA&P, including: Architecture, Environmental Design, Urban Planning, Dual MUP/MBA, and Dual M.Arch/MBA. Normal print allocation procedures apply*.
  • Non-major students taking courses in the SA&P after the Non-major form has been completed. (excluding general education courses). Normal print allocation procedures apply. Accounts remain active one week after grades are submitted for the semester. Continuing registration in SA&P courses is required for the accounts to remain active.
  • Faculty and staff funded by the SA&P with current appointments. Normal print allocation procedures apply. Accounts remain active for six months after termination of SA&P appointment for full time faculty and staff, and for one month after termination of SA&P appointment for part-time faculty and staff.
  • Research center users, formally affiliated with the SA&P, with current SA&P appointments, which have purchased user access to the SA&P computing facilities. Normal print allocation procedures do not apply. Accounts remain active for one month after termination of SA&P appointment.
  • Faculty and staff who have officially retired from the SA&P. Normal print allocation procedures do not apply. Accounts remain active for life.
  • Recent graduates of the SA&P. Normal print allocation procedures do not apply. Accounts remain active for 6 months after graduation date.
  • Non-continuing majors in the SA&P. Normal print allocation procedures do not apply. Accounts remain active for 6 months after the last day of the semester in which the student was registered.
  • Individual exceptions, with current SA&P appointments, as approved by the Dean of the SA&P. Normal print allocation procedures do not apply. Accounts remain active for one month after termination of SA&P appointment.

    *Normal print allocation procedures include the provision of $25, allocated on the first day of the spring and fall semesters. If normal print allocations do not apply, users requiring print access must purchase their own print balances.
