Enabling Personal Contact List

Make your contact list accessible to be searched when sending email by placing a check in the box under Outlook Address book

Enabling Personal Contact List:

  1. Open your folder list within Outlook.
  2. Right-click your mouse on the Contacts folder and select Properties.
  3. Place a check in the "Show this folder as an email Address Book" option under the Outlook Address Book tab.
  4. Click OK.

Selecting your Contacts as the primary source for email addresses:

  1. From the Outlook menu bar, select the Tools menu, and select Address Book.
  2. Then from the Address Book Menu select the Tools menu again and select Options. The addressing window pictured to the left appears.
  3. This is the window from which you will configure Outlook to set your personals contact list as the primary OVER the directory that has been configured for the School's directory service.
  4. Select Contacts in the selection areas
    • Show this address list first
    • Keep personal contacts in
  5. Click on the Add button. A separate window will appear. Select Contacts under Outlook Address Book and click Add.
  6. This has now added Contacts to the address lists order for sending mail. You can now select Contacts from the list, and click on the up arrow on the right hand side of the list box, until Contacts has been moved up the list to the top.
